biography
...picked up the guitar during high school days in the early sixties, just south of San Fransisco. listning to all of the "west coasties" around San Fran at the time.... back when coffee houses and small venues were the thing. Like Jerry playing pedal steel with the new riders in Menlo Park, or Santana playng at the middle school a couple o' blocks down the street. Like Niel singing about his ranch on the other side of Skyline, or like playing acoustic's while being in the "zone", to the ocean, or deep in the redwoods..... Most of the time since then I've been living in beautiful Oregon, and working as a cabinet maker / woodworker, and family man. Peace, hp

Wouldnt that be great

Life is what we make it, nothing more
We just hope to make it to the golden shore
Wouldnt that be sweet, it would knock me off my feet
And I can see no need for no more war.
Time just keeps on slipping away
I just hope to make it through another day
Wouldnt that be great, I hope its not to late
I wouldnt want to waste it all away.
Money just seems to slip right though our hands
Were just trying to buy a little land
Wouldnt that be nice, I hope its worth the price
Just a place to sit on a piece of sand.
Wouldnt that be great

been on this road v2
well, I've been trying to get the hang of sitting in front of my computer and using audacity. It's a gas , but it's hard to settle on anything, I've gotten used to a PA, a large room, and my freind Paul playing lead, bur this is a rough draft with just li'l old me layering on acoustic, ok, let me have it, guys and gals..... hp
ps here' the lyrics:
Been on this road
Been on this road a long time,
Been following basically the very same lines
They say its going to end, but they wont say exactly when
Been on this road a long time.
Been feelin low for a little while,
Tryting to turn a frown into a smile .
Every now and then, you know you lose a real good friend,
Been feelin low for a little while,
Aint read the news in a week or so,
No TV no radio .
Every now and then, tour mind goes out around the bend
No TV, no radio .

another road song, but not really, I actually am refering to politics and life in general. another poorly recorded song from the same night as my last one, but had to post it, because jimk said he likes dogs barking, and seriously, i don't know where that dog bark at the beginning came from. any way, I'm setting out to get some better tracts out there, so we'll be seeing you soon, hp13
ps I'll post some lyrics soon, too....

walk on down the road
One night at Sozo's coffee house, in North Bend, OR, that's Paul Taylor playing lead to one of my songs. Sorry about the recording, just one mike picking up everything, you know, but I just wanted to get started with one of my songs. this site is going to be fun, so don't tear me a new one, just kidding, go ahead and critique away..... thanks, hal
